Quality of LIfe

 In the article "Quality of Life," by Francisco Orcozo he states that people have different satisfaction to define real quality of life. In some country, being wealthy is not important. They are more concern about the people surround them like family and friends than having a ton of money. However there are still some people which material things will be the basis how can they define a good life. For the author it is important to be contented of what we have. Not all material things could make us feel satisfied in our lives.

ANT, GEORGE AND GRASSHOPPER, TOM

     Maugham's story is obviously different to the Aesop fable because the story of Maugham telling us that it is not important to be prepare about the future, just enjoy the things you you have in the present. In Maugham story also discussing that it's not all about the hard works that you've earned, it depends how you apply your ideas to make your life better. In Aesop fable they are in favor of hardworking people who are earning their success to their future. Examples are the people who are really not spending money for their luxuries. Instead of having a good times in their lives they will choose to save money, the only thing that they will buy for themselves are the things that help them in their daily lives. It is not important what kind personalities you have now, whether you are like Tom and the grasshopper or George and ant .Both stories showed different stories. It will just depend on you which of the these story will you base your own life situation.

       In the story “As It Was the Beginning” we can clearly witnessed that Father Paul discriminated Esther. Esther and Laurence really love each other but he brain washed his nephew and convinced Laurence to stay away from ester just because she is a daughter of pagan mother. For me, Father Paul’s reasons were unreasonable. No one can change a person, but someone can be a person’s reason to change.

       I totally disagree how Father Paul convinced Laurence to leave Esther because he is a racist. Just because Esther is a red skin Indian woman, used to live in a cone shape tepee and came from the poor family of pagan, he thinks that it would be a shame for his nephew to marry a woman like Esther. It is not an option to judge a person by his appearance or where she comes from. We should be sensitive and considerate in other’s feeling.

       I believe that Esther would be able to change her personality, and forget all the things where she came from if Father Paul let her to continue her relationship with Laurence. She can’t accept that the man she loves will marry other woman. Therefore, she did kill Laurence cause of her selfishness. If Father Paul gave Esther a chance to prove that she can change, she might not have determination to poisoned Laurence.

      Esther is just a normal woman too. She deserves to be given a chance to prove what she can do. She came from a poor pagan family but it does not mean that she can’t change her beliefs in life .It is important to be concerned in other’s feelings. We should stop discriminating people especially when they are from a poor family.       

Forer and wither

        Forer and Wither are both excellent writers. They both studied and explained clearly on their articles how the birth orders affect in every child. As a youngest child in my family, they described my personality perfectly and it's help me view myself to be better in the future.In their articles they said that youngest child needs always to be guided because of their problems in being responsible of themselves and for always asking help for others.I strongly agree with their opinion because I usually always need someone's company that will help me to get rid off to my problems. Also in our house I could say that I'm very irresponsible because all my stuffs are all over the place and I can't imagine me myself cleaning the house or doing the household chores It's nice to read their articles i really and enjoyed it and a lot of interesting ideas describing how youngest child plays in one family.

         

Before I read “How your birth order influences your life adjustment."  I felt excitement because I want to know if Lucille will describe me similarly the way I function myself based on my birth order. I am so glad that Lucille wrote a lot in this paragraph that really accurate about how we live and what is our role in the family.    

   

   Lucille said "youngest child less able to do many things than other people. But not to be concerned because there are always others around to take care of me." As a youngest child, I agree with that, I think the youngest child will always feel that they have the least responsibilities in family. Same thing in my situation when I was in younger age, I always pass to my brothers the task that my parents want me to do in the house. I know that they will always do the favors that I want because it is an advantage for me to be the youngest child, I still feel like I am a baby. In short, they spoiled me. At first, they are just letting me to do things like that but while I’m getting older, they start to teach me step by step how to be responsible and to always ask help to others.  

 

   It is also said that “Parents usually expect their oldest child to be more capable and more responsible than younger children.”  Which is accurate too to the way my parents want to be my oldest brother is. I think all of the parents want their oldest child to be more responsible because they are the role model of their younger brothers. I can say that my two brothers are responsible and capable because now they have their own family and they know already how to take care of their children in right way.

  

    I enjoyed what Lucille wrote because there’s a lot of things that fact. Some people may not be agreed about because they have different situation. Things that she described physically and emotionally are really accurate especially in my life.

short family story

  My name is Marion dela Rosa son of the beautiful woman Remedios Rances. I have two brothers and their names are Marvic and Mark.We are  from the country Philippines. I am the youngest, Marvic is the middle child and Mark is the oldest.My mom and dad were divorced since when i was young so i didn't have any information about my dad. My mom doing all her best just to stand for me and brothers as a mother and father. I know that it is so difficult to live without a father but she's doing it for us to have a wonderful life. Of course me and my brothers doing also our best to help our mom to carry our family. My mother left us to work in United States for 15 years, but our communication to our mom never loosen. Two years ago, my mom brought me here in United States. My two brothers chose to stay in Philippines. They have their own lives now. Marvic and Mark had 2 cute little daughters and Me, I'm here with my mom spending all the times that we  never spent together when we were seperated. Our mom love's us so much. Even though we grew up without our dad, Our family still know the true meaning of family.
